LUCKNOW, Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) is all set to upgrade electrical and civil infrastructure with a “record additional expenditure” of ₹456.28 crore to upgrade 93 industrial areas in 46 districts of Uttar Pradesh for the fiscal year 2023-24.
The officials of UPSIDA stated, “It is the first time in the history of UPSIDA that such a huge expenditure is proposed for the upgradation of its ageing industrial areas”.
The official further added that the project aligns with the vision of Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, to make the state ‘growth engine of the country’.
This move by the UP government comes after the state received a good investment due to the UP Global Investors Summit, which was held in March 2023. Issues regarding industrial infrastructure in several districts were raised by the investors, to which the state government had assured that they will take steps towards it.
The Paschimanchal region will receive the maximum allocation of ₹206.57 crore, followed by the Madhyanchal region at ₹152.29 crore. Infrastructure in the industrial areas of the Poorvanchal and Bundelkhand regions will be upgraded with a planned expenditure of ₹74.46 crore and ₹22.96 crore, respectively.
