LUCKNOW: The Government of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, April 21, decided to provide free-of-cost COVID-19 vaccines to all those who are above 18 years of age from May 1. The decision was taken during a meeting of cabinet ministers chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The cabinet also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allowing everybody above 18 years of age to be administered the COVID-19 vaccine.
CM Adityanath said that the decision of PM Modi will help in better management of COVID and also the massive vaccination drive which the state government will take forward on its own resources. He asked the state departments to chalk out a plan to conduct the vaccination drive on a large scale. He added that the state government has to increase the vaccination centres and create a database.
CM Adityanath also asked to take care of the migrants who are returning to their homes and keep them in quarantine centres. He added that the fight will succeed only by educating people and keeping the public aware.
