UP collaborates with GoI to provide online services to citizens

LUCKNOW: The Government of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, May 31, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of India under the National Urban Digital Mission (NUDM) to provide online services to citizens of the state. The MoU was signed in the presence of Durga Shankar Mishra, Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh and few officials of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.

Under the NUDM, an urban platform will be created for online delivery of governance for citizens. Property tax assessment and payment, building plan approval, municipal grievance redress, trade licence, no-objection certificate, water and sewerage costs, birth and death certificates, and other services will be provided to citizens through the platform. The state government plans to introduce the platform in the next 90 days.

Mishra directed officials of the urban development department of the state to work in coordination with the GoI. He said that the NUDM is working on three pillars namely people, process and platform, to provide assistance to urban areas for developing a digital foundation for smooth governance.
