NEW DELHI: Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister on February 21, 2019 inaugurated a new park which houses the replicas of the seven wonders of the world at Sarai Kale Khan. The park, which is called the ‘Waste to Wonder Park’, is spread across an area of seven acres in the Sarai Kale Khan area and was built by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).
It is the first-of-its-kind tourist attraction in the world, with the replicas of the Taj Mahal, the Great Pyramid of Giza, Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Christ the Redeemer statue of Rio de Janeiro, Rome’s Colosseum, and the Statute of Liberty. The replicas were built using 150 tons of industrial and other waste. The park was opened for the public at the inauguration.
The replicas have been fabricated artistically and the park has been commissioned in the “shortest period of six months despite the expected time of completion being eight months” in view of the vast waste materials available, the SDMC said.
“The replicas of all seven wonders of world has been built with eco-friendly, self-sustainable material, and has its own solar and wind power generation. It is open to all and we are more than happy that the park has been constructed within six month time and now it is a reality in Delhi. This will also enhance the tourists economy and this will give boost to Swach Bharat Mission led by the Prime Minister.” said Rajnath Singh.
P K Goel, SDMC Commissioner said that 150 ton of scrap and waste has been used to create the ‘architectural wonders’. He claimed that this is the world’s first such park where all the seven wonders have been replicated using waste products.

However, children up to three years of age and senior citizens, 65 years and above, will not be charged any fee.
