TRIPURA: Tripura has bagged the ‘Best Performing State’ in regard to the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) scheme in the northeast and hilly states category.
In addition to this, the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has bagged the first position under ‘Best Performing Municipal Corporation’, Kaisehar Municipal Council as the ‘best performing Municipal Council’ and Jirania Nagar Panchyat as the Best Performing Nagar Panchayat.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) had launched the PMAY-U Awards 2021, a 150-days challenge to recognise best implementation of the scheme among the states, union territories and urban local bodies. The awards will be presented virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 1, 2023. Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Light House Project, a housing facility for the economically weaker sections of people living in urban areas which comprises 1000 ready-to-stay flats.
