HYDERABAD: V Prashant Reddy, Minister of Transport, Telangana, on July 2, said that the state transport department has set up a committee to recommend improvement in services offered by the department. The committee is expected to submit its report in 15 days. A special complaints cell will be set up by the transport department to receive complaints from people and for redressal of the grievances.
Reddy said, “My office will receive a monthly report from this cell and I will monitor its functioning.”
For receiving complaints from daily commuters an email address and phone number will be provided. Among these initiatives, the minister said that they are planning to introduce a new RTA application for mobile phones to provide transparent services to the people.
The minister also said that a shortage of cards at RTA offices led to some delays in their distribution but plans had been put in place to print 2.3 lakh cards in the next 15 days. These cards are used for printing vehicle registrations and driving licenses.
