CHENNAI: Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M K Stalin said on Monday, September 20, that the Government of Tamil Nadu would bear the full education cost, including tuition fees, hostel fees and counselling fees for all students under the 7.5 per cent quota. Stalin distributed admission letters to 50 students under the special reservation.
Stalin said that this will lead them and their families towards development, besides benefitting the state. G Viswanathan, one of the beneficiaries and the topper among government schools with aggregate marks of 197.9, said that the state government bearing the cost of his studies would mean that he can complete his higher studies.
Stalin said that 69 per cent of the students in government institutions come from villages and he ensured that government orders are issued to ascertain that social justice is the basis for an equitable society. He added that if any one of the students benefitting from this scheme comes after years and tells that he is successful and working in a big company, there would not be a happier moment than that.
