TIRUPATI, Andhra Pradesh: Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, TTD Chairman and MLA, has flagged off a double-decker bus in Tirupati in the presence of Mayor of Tirupati Municipal Corporation, R Sireesha Yadav, Deputy Mayor B Abhinay Reddy and Municipal Commissioner D Haritha.
The double-decker bus is part of the public transport fleet and citizens as well as devotees visiting the temple could use the bus for commuting and enjoying the landmark destinations around the city.
Tirupati Municipal Corporation has purchased the bus from Switch Mobility, an electric vehicle company, at a cost of ₹2 crore. The bus can accommodate 65 people and it will run on four different routes across the city.
TTD Chairman has appreciated the urban local body for becoming the first city to procure and operate a double-decker bus for its commuters. He also boarded the bus, along with other civic body officials present during the flag-off ceremony. He also praised the local body for framing 18 master plan roads across the city, given the upcoming meeting on the city’s public transportation department.
