HYDERABAD: KT Rama Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development, IT and Industries, Government of Telangana issued the Telangana State Municipal Act 2019, on Tuesday, January 4, in Braille script, which will aid the visually impaired in obtaining information on municipal rules.
The book, which is said to be the country’s first of its kind, contains information on the government’s ongoing programmes including greening, water supply, sanitation, health, public toilets, streetlights, markets, disaster management, pollution control, building permissions, e-municipal services, trade licences and others.
According to Rao, the state government has been implementing numerous programmes, particularly for those with impairments. The book is currently accessible in two languages: English and Telugu.
According to a press release, ministers from the Government of Telangana including Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Member of Legislative Assembly; Satyavathi Rathod, Member of Telangana Legislative Council; Venkatesh Netha Member of the Lok Sabha, MLAs Challa Dharmareddy; Diwakar Rao; Maganti Gopinath; Arvind Kumar, Director, Intelligence Bureau of India and other officials were in attendance.
