HYDERABAD: A report titled ‘Telangana’s Year of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-2020 and Beyond’ was released on Saturday, January 2. The report, unveiled by KT Rama Rao, Minister of Industries and Information Technology, Government of Telangana, presented the six level strategy of state government to make this initiative a success.
Rao said that 2020 was commemorated as ‘Telangana’s year of AI’ on January 2, 2020. After one year, the state government shared the success of Year of AI programme which survived the blow of the coronavirus pandemic. He added that the project has taken Telangana to the forefront of AI race to excellence in the nation.
The report mentioned the initiatives of the state government launched by various partners such as Intel, International Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H), Public health foundation of India (PHFI), etc. The Government of Telangana took various projects of AI during lockdown such as COVID-19 platform which predicts the rate of transmission of the novel coronavirus, district-level situational awareness, etc. Presently, the state government is focusing on the technology in agriculture and exploring the usage of big data in farming.
