HYDERABAD, Telangana: The Government of Telangana has announced a 90 per cent interest waiver under a One Time Settlement scheme for the clearance of property tax arrears in urban local bodies across the southern states, including the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
The state government is offering a 90 per cent waiver on the interest charged on accumulated property tax arrears, on the condition that the taxpayer has to pay the pending principal amount along with the 10 per cent interest for the financial year 2022-23 in one go. Offer is applicable not just for individual properties but also for private and government properties within the territorial limits of GHMC.
The people who have already paid their pending dues along with penalties upto March 2023 can also avail the benefits of the waiver scheme. In cases where tax waivers are granted, the waived amount will be applied to future tax payments.
