NEW DELHI: Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, formed ten multi-disciplinary teams to inspect private hospitals treating COVID-19 patients in New Delhi. The Centre has ordered teams to start their inspection visits from November 16 to ensure compliance with various directions issued by MoHFW and the Delhi government to contain the spread of the virus.
The teams were set up as decided in a meeting chaired by Amit Shah, Minister of Home Affairs, Government of India, in view of the recent spike in coronavirus cases in Delhi. The teams have been given the task of visiting 114 private hospitals, check the availability of wards and ICU beds in par with orders by Delhi government, RT-PCR testing capacity, and turnaround time of receiving report. The term of reference for compliance includes whether the hospitals are displaying the availability of wards and ICU beds on a real-time basis through LED and corona dashboard of Delhi government. The teams also have to check whether the hospitals are thoroughly observing the COVID-19 discharge policy mandated by the central government.
