HYDERABAD: Since the state government is asking teachers to rejoin schools from August 27, the Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation (TPTF) requested officials to provide them with personal protective equipment (PPEs) and sanitation kits. TPTF said that since teachers have to meet with parents for admissions and visit houses in villages to enquire about the infrastructure available with the students to attend digital classes, it is necessary that they are geared up with the necessary equipment to keep themselves safe from contacting with the virus.
Teachers said that after submitting multiple representations, the authorities have moved most of the COVID-19 testing centres out of government schools. However, they are still unsure if the schools have been sanitised properly. R Rambabu, General Secretayr, TPTF, said that teachers are demanding that every nook and corner of the schools must be sanitised properly to avoid the possibility of teachers being affecting by coronavirus.
