”Of the total Rs 25.76 crore released by the state government for three municipal corporations, Agra will get Rs 5.66 crore. Of this, Rs 2.99 crore will be spent on completing pending work on connecting sewers with houses, Rs 1.57 crore on maintenance and up-gradation of old sewer infrastructure and Rs 1.16 crore on water supply network”, said an official.
Last year also a proposal was forwarded to the state government for funds under AMRUT scheme for works relating to piped water supply in the city and completion of pending works on sewer infrastructure in different parts of the city.
According to sources, several wards in the city have water and sewer lines but these are not connected to households. At various places, sewer connecting chambers have not been developed. Now, the state government has released funds for completion of pending works
