New Delhi: Delhi metro rail corporation for the first time has introduced e-rikshaw facilities in Delhi after Gurugram, Faridabad and Vaishali. On Friday, in association with a private firm DMRC has launched the e-rikshaw facility service from stations in Dwarka.
A fleet of 100 e-rikshaw called Smart-E have been flagged of by Lt. governor Anil Baijal from Dwarka sec 10 station to boost last mile connectivity around Dwarka. “This eco-friendly initiative will enable commuters to prefer non-polluting public transport modes over personal vehicles,” said Anil Baijal.
You can avail this facility from Dwarka, Dwarka Sector 11, Sector 14, Sector 12, Sector 13, Sector 9, Sector 9 and Sector 10 — from 6am to 11pm.
At present only 100 vehicles were introduced but soon more vehicles will be added to the fleet in coming weeks, charging stations have also been set up to ensure smooth flow in the service throughout the day said officials.
