COIMBATORE: S P Velumani,Minister for Municipal Administration, Tamil Nadu laid the foundation stone for smart city projects in Coimbatore on March 9, 2019. The total cost of these projects amount to Rs 224.10 crore.
As per a release from the Coimbatore Corporation, Velumani inaugurated the Ukkadam Periyakulam rejuvenation and beautification work at a cost of Rs 62.17 lakh, Selva Chinthamani tank development work at Rs 31.47 crore, multi-level car parking work in R S Puram at Rs 40.78 crore, LED streetlights installation work at Rs 74.70 crore and underground drainage work in Shivaram Nagar at a cost of Rs 14.98 crore.
Velumani said that the development work has been initiated in 11 out of 12 cities, which were selected under the smart city mission in Tamil Nadu.
