BENGALURU: The second dry run across the country for COVID-19 vaccine will be held on Friday, January 8, and it will be held in 180 locations across all the districts in Karnataka. The first mock drive for COVID-19 vaccine was held on January 2 in five districts of the state. This time, the dry run will be conducted in all the districts including district hospitals, medical college hospitals, urban Public Health Centres, etc.
Dr Arundhathi Chandrashekar, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), said that the dry run will be held in 5-6 centres in each district with 25 health workers (beneficiaries) receiving the vaccine. She added that the last dry run witnessed a shortage of space, software and network in the Co-WIN portal but this time, these issues will be addressed.
Dr Harsh Vardhan Singh, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, called a meeting of all his state-level counterparts to discuss the dry run on Thursday, January 7.
