VIJAYAWADA: The city of Vijayawada will get a makeover, declared Botcha Satyanarayana, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), Government of Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday, December 30. On Tuesday, Satyanarayana along with other senior officials inaugurated Raghavaiah Park’s modernised walking track, food court, and other facilities. The project was funded with a Rs 1 crore grant from the 14th Finance Commission.
He stated, “Our objective is to develop all regions of the city. For the convenience of the people, the state government is completing the works that have been ongoing for years,” the Minister stated.
He also commended the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) authorities for moving forward with development efforts in collaboration with local governmental officials. Velampalli Srinivasa Rao, Minister of Endowments, Government of Andhra Pradesh urged residents to take advantage of the indoor stadium, which has been developed with modern amenities. He further stated that all of the city’s major parks will be modernised to provide a pleasant environment for the city’s residents.
Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and Botcha Satyanarayana directed the officials to take action against unauthorized layouts.
After learning that there are approximately 14,000 unlawful layouts scattered across 80,000 acres, they demanded that the officials take action to prevent such layouts from causing income loss to the authorities. During a discussion with the Secretariat staff, the Ministers emphasised that every layout must be approved by the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP).
