NEW DELHI: Mahendra Singh, Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday, November 7, said that a sum of Rs 230 crore has been sanctioned for canalising the Naked Khad in Dehra sub- division of Kangra District. He also said that the channelisation will provide comfort against substantial damages caused by the floods during monsoon. Thakur asked the officials to complete all the incomplete water supply schemes and prioritise the quality in development works. He added that the government is taking adequate steps to provide better irrigation and drinking water services to residents of the states.
Thakur also investigated the HP-Shiva project, which is being executed to promote horticulture in lower regions of the states. According to Thakur the fertilizer and irrigation will be arranged in selected areas and marketing facilities will be enhanced to boost farmer’s income and create job opportunities.
