AGRA: The road connecting the Taj Mahal to Fatehpur Sikri and Kheria airport, is all set to get a makeover under the smart city project. The plan includes the restructuring of major road crossings, installation of smart health kiosks and toilets along the path, as well as the installation of LED lights.
On December 1, 2018, 9th board meeting of the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) took place at the divisional commissioner’s office, where senior officials of the district administration, Agra Municipal Corporation (AMC), Agra Development Authority (ADA), Jal Nigam, Police officials and others participated. The divisional commissioner directed the Agra smart city project management company (private consultant) Darashaw private limited, to prepare a detailed project (DPR) for the beatification of the road from Taj Mahal to Fatehpur Sikri and Kheria airport.
Anil Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Agra, who is also the head of the special purpose vehicle (SPV) Agra Smart City Pvt. Ltd., has sought a detailed project report (DPR) for the beautification of the road. The smart city development proposal for the city includes makeover plans worth over Rs 1000 crore. The ABD plan envisions retrofitting of the 2,250 acres area.
