BENGALURU: After an interruption of nine months since the COVID-19-caused lockdown regular classes for the first and second- year college students in Karnataka would recommence after Sankranti on Thursday, January 14.
Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, Deputy Chief Minister, Karnataka, on Friday, January 8, announced the reopening of colleges. He also asked the Vice-Chancellors of the government and private universities, senior officers of several departments, which also included higher education, to propose a date for recommencement for the classes. In the meeting with Dr Narayan, all the vice-chancellors agreed that the government should restart the offline classes.
The regular offline classes for the class 10th, the second pre-university, final year degree and postgraduate students have started and are successfully running. Considering the success, it has been decided to reopen the remaining classes also, Dr Narayan added.
