JAIPUR, Rajasthan: The Directorate of local bodies in Rajasthan is yet to issue an order asking the employees of the local bodies (Municipal Corporations) to opt for the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) even though the finance department has already issued an order to implement OPS in autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies in the state.
The finance department has prescribed a deadline of June 30, for employees of the autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies before which they have to opt for OPS. Mauji Shankar Saini, General Secretary, New Pension Scheme Employees Federation of Rajasthan (NPSEFR), said, “The DLB was supposed to issue a circular asking the employees of municipal corporations to opt for OPS by June 30 and also deposit employer’s share, but no action has been taken in this regard yet.”
An official from the Department of Finance informed that there is no information about any circular being issued by the local bodies department. The official added, “Roadways, RTDC and Jaipur Discom have issued circulars for their employees.”
