JAIPUR, Rajasthan: The Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Diya Kumari, who also manages the finance portfolio, has presented the state budget for 2024–25 in the state assembly. As per the budget document, the state government has allotted ₹17,215.49 crore for the housing and urban development sectors. While presenting the state budget, Deputy CM said that the state government is working to achieve ten resolutions to make the state a $350 billion economy.
In the budget, the state government expects revenue receipts of ₹2.64 lakh crore, while expenses have been pegged at ₹2.9 lakh crore with a revenue deficit of ₹25,258 crore. Of this, ₹27,000 crore has been earmarked for the health sector.
The transport sector has got ₹13367.28 crore, which will pave the way for strengthening, widening, and renewing 4117 km of state highways and 160 km of urban roads. The government also plans to construct 6,434 km of missing link roads this year.
Out of ₹17,215.49 crore for the Housing & Urban Development Sector, ₹3,981.94 crore will go for the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Mission-2.0. Also, ₹1334.80 crore has been given for the Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project, and ₹700 crore has been allocated for the maintenance and renovation of the civic roads. Under the AMRUT Mission, 2146.84 km of sewer lines will be laid, and five sewage treatment plants of 25 million litres capacity each will be built.
Apart from that, this year, 12,300 toilets will be built under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0. The disaster management and relief department has been given ₹2,786.06 crore.
