JAIPUR: Raghu Sharma, Minister of Health, Government of Rajasthan has said that the state government has achieved the target of conducting 10,000 tests per day in the state. This target was achieved by the government on Saturday, May 2, 2020. At the beginning of the pandemic, Rajasthan had no testing facilities in the state for Covid-19 and the samples had to be sent to a lab in Pune.
The government has also purchased Cobas-8800 machines to speed up testing in Jaipur and Jodhpur, which are amongst the worst-hit districts in the country. As a result, these two cities will each be able to conduct an additional 4,000 tests daily.
A total of one lakh thirteen thousand and nine hundred thirty-four samples have been collected in Rajasthan so far and very few states in the country have held such extensive Corona testing, said the minister. He further asserted that due to the commitment of health workers and the spirit of patients, the number of people getting cured every day is rapidly increasing.
