JAIPUR, Rajasthan: As per the India Solar Project Tracker of Mercom, Rajasthan has become the first state in the country to have achieved a 51 per cent share of solar power in its total power generation capacity. Rajasthan now has about 23 GW of solar power generation capacity.
Also, the share of solar power in total renewable energy stands at 76 per cent. A couple of years ago, in 2022, Rajasthan was the first state to cross 10 GW of cumulative large-scale solar installations. India’s one-fourth of the large-scale solar capacity is housed in Rajasthan.
Apart from that, several solar projects are also in the pipeline. The projects, which have around 20 GW of capacity, are tendered and awaiting auctions. Additionally, the total solar access capacity was 1.3 GW, which is about 9 per cent of the country’s total capacity.
