JAIPUR: While the country is busy fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, Rajasthan has achieved a new milestone by announcing the recovery rate in the state to reach 80 per cent. On Friday, July 3, 2020, the state witnessed 204 new COVID cases, taking the total number of COVID positive cases in the state to 18,662. Out of this, 14,948 people have recovered from the disease. According to experts, extensive testing and contact tracing initiated and carried out by the Government of Rajasthan are responsible for the increase in the recovery rate.
In terms of total number of COVID tests carried out in the state, Rajasthan has outperformed every other Indian state with a testing capacity of 30,000 samples daily. Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister, Rajasthan, recently also offered neighbouring states to avail testing facility from Rajasthan to help them fight the COVID-19 battle. So far, the state has performed nearly 8,70,000 tests.
An Audit of Death due to Corona in the state has also been made mandatory and the focus is on ruthless containment. As soon as the Corona patient is detected, immediately the affected area is sealed and sampling in the area begins, due to which the infection does not spread to other areas. The state has also adopted the best practices of other states. The State Government started Operation Liza, under which the elderly and sick people were quarantined in their homes.
