Private CNG vehicles, women drivers not to be exempted from ‘odd-even’ scheme

NEW DELHI: The second edition of the famed pollution curbing policy of Delhi government, the odd-even vehicle rationing scheme, will see some additions. Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi announced that CNG private vehicles and women drivers will not be exempted from the odd even plan.  Further, the transport department has also made a recommendation to the government to include two wheelers in the scheme too but for off-peak hours.

“The move is part of a seven-point action plan aimed at combating high levels of air pollution in winters starting at a point when crop burning starts in neighbouring states,” Kejriwal had said.

Considering the ‘very poor’ air condition in Delhi, which is expected to deteriorate further in the coming days, the scheme was ruled out again and will be implemented from November 4 to 15.
