NEW DELHI: President of India Ramnath Kovind accepted the resignation of Anil Baijal, former Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi and appointed Vinai Kumar Saxena as the new LG.
Official statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan reads, “The President of India is pleased to appoint Vinai Kumar Saxena to be the new Lt. Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.”
Vinai Kumar Saxena, an alumnus of Kanpur University, is currently serving as the Chairman of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission since 2015. Additionally, he was also appointed as a member of the national committee headed by the Prime Minister of Narendra Modi to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
