BHOPAL, Madhya Pradesh: Polling is being held in 46 urban local bodies (ULBs) spread across 18 districts of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, September 27. A total of 8.42 lakh voters will exercise their franchise in these elections.
The polling started at seven in the morning and will continue till five in the evening.
Rakesh Singh, Secretary, State Election Commission of Madhya Pradesh, said that around 3,397 candidates are contesting the election of 46 civic bodies, including 17 Municipal Councils and 29 Nagar Parishads.
He added that 25 corporators had been elected unopposed, while 814 posts will be filled after elections. The list of 46 ULBs that are facing elections includes six newly established Nagar Parishads.
The results of these elections will be declared on Friday, September 30.
