PUNE, Maharashtra: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is to acquire Warje and Shivane water supply projects from Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) at the cost price of 18 crore, to be paid to the nodal agency.

4 years ago, Shivane, Uttamnagar, Kondhwe and Dhavade were merged into the PMC limits but PMC is yet to supply the water to these areas. Locals, on the other hand, have been constantly raising the issue of inadequate water supply from MJP.

Vikram Kumar, Municipal Commissioner and Newly appointed administrator of PMC said, “It was decided to take charge of water projects set up by the MJP at Shivane, Uttamnagar and Warje. These areas were getting water supply from MJP before their merger with PMC. PMC would hand over money to the water supply agency next week.”
