PUNE: In order to improve its brand as “clean city” on social media platforms the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has hired a multimedia agency for upcoming Swachh Survekshan 2019. Earlier that PMC had hired a private agency to continue its achievement in its previous performances of Swachh Survekshan. According to PMC officials these agencies will also help the corporation to help carry out its cleanliness initiatives.
The Swachh Survekshan is a yearly survey under the Union Government that ranks cities and towns across India on the basis of cleanliness. In the previous surveys PMC was ranked 10th in 2018, 13th in 2017 and 11th in 2016 out of selected 100 cleanest cities of India.
PMC has signed a three-month contract of Rs 18 Lakh with Indian Magic Eye Pvt Ltd for social media promotions, updates and advertisements for events regarding cleanliness in the city. The agency will also post promotional campaigns under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, promote the Swachhta App. The agency has targeted to push the promotion across all the social media platforms (Radio, TV Commercials and Sky signs) together.
PMC has also signed a contract with another company for 12 months. It will help the civic body to prepare a draft plan for its solid waste management department, and help to implement it. The civic body will pay Rs 99.49 lakh to impart specific training to civic staff, execute new programs to increase revenue, and collect data on cleanliness initiatives.
