PM to meet State CMs to discuss lockdown’s future

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding an online meeting with the Chief Ministers of various states of the country to discuss the future of the lockdown in the nation. The Unlockdown phase 1 is to end on June 30, and with the inputs of the various state heads, the Centre is to shortly decide the future of India during the pandemic, which has gotten worse gradually.

The 2-day marathon meeting would discuss the lockdown and ways to pick up the depleting economy. June 16, the PM will meet heads of 21 states that account for less than 5 per cent of the total cases like Punjab, Assam and UTs. On June 17, the states with most of the cases like Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Maharashtra, would be scheduled for the meeting.
