NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, February 20, launched and laid the foundation stone of some key projects of power and urban sector in Kerala through video conferencing. He inaugurated Pugalur-Thrissur Power Transmission Project, Kasargod Solar Power Project and Water Treatment Plant at Aruvikkara and also launched Command and Control Centre at Thiruvananthapuram and Smart Roads Project.
PM Modi said that development and good governance doesn’t know caste, creed, race, gender, religion or language and the development is for all. He added that this is the first High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) inter-connection of state to the national grid. The system will aid the transfer of a large quantum of power to meet the growing power demand of Kerala. States are largely dependent on import of power from the national grid and this gap has to be bridged with the HVDC system, he said. PM Modi also said that our cities are drivers of growth and powerhouse of innovation with three trends of technological development, favourable demographic dividends and increasing domestic demands.
