NEW DELHI: Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi launched the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor on Monday, December 13, which connects the temple to the banks of river Ganges. He said, during the launch, that India lost its confidence due to a long colonial period and it needs to believe in its own creation. He urged the nation to take three resolutions of cleanliness, creation and continuous efforts towards Atmanirbhar Bharat.
PM Modi appealed to young India and said that moving ahead in modern India will be difficult if the country is not swacch. He added that people faced problems in reaching the temple, especially the elderly, but after completion of the project, it will become convenient for everybody to reach the temple premises. The elderly people can take a ghat jerry to reach the temple.
PM Modi had laid the foundation stone of the project on March 8, 2019. It was designed for easy accessibility for pilgrims. More than 3000 dignitaries including seers, priests, artists, and Chief Ministers of various BJP-ruled states were also present at the event.
