NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Asom Mala’ programme in Dhekiajuli of Sonitpur district on Sunday, February 7, with an intention to enhance the state’s road infrastructure and results in the state’s economic progress and boost connectivity.
The programme is exclusive for its emphasis on effective maintenance through continuous field data collection and its linkage with the Road Asset Management System. Modi also laid the first stones of medical colleges and hospitals in Biswanath and Charaideo with an intention to enhance Assam’s health infrastructure.
Two medical colleges and hospitals are being introduced at Biswanath and Charaideo at a total approximate project cost of Rs 1,100 crores. Each hospital will have a 500-bed capacity and 100 MBBS seat capacity.
