LUCKNOW: The district administration and Nagar Nigam will install plush pink toilets for women, in the state capital.
Additional Municipal commissioner PK Srivastava said that these toilets will be different from the usual public toilets, with fully air conditioned. These toilets would come up by the next financial year.
“These toiles would have 24 hours water supply, separate section where ladies can breastfeed their babies as well as sanitary napkin dispensing machine. The toilets will also be equipped with portable incinerators for disposing of sanitary napkins and tissue papers”, Srivastava said.
According to Nagar Nigam officials, 40 densely populated spots have been selected. Janpath market, Hazratganj crossing, Aminabad, 1090 crossing, , Qaiserbagh, Rajajipuram, Charbagh Bus station, Alambagh, Chandernagar and Old city areas are some of the spots which have being selected.
Nagar Nigam will ensure the installation of toilets and its management by ladies staffers. “The toilets will be ultramodern and packed with amenities of all sorts,” said an official of Nagar Nigam.
