NEW DELHI: South Delhi will be only 15 minutes away from East Delhi. Coming November distance between south Delhi and Noida will become shorter. Trial run on a 9.7-km pink line stretch between Lajpat Nagar and Mayur Vihar phase has begun on for an expected opening in November.
Once the corridor is operational, commuters will be able to avail interchange facilities at Mayur Vihar phase-I station and get connected to the Blue Line instead of taking a long route through Rajiv chowk or Mandi House.
“This stretch, which will be a continuation of the current Majlis Park-Lajpat Nagar section, will be a boon for commuters to prominent areas like Ashram, MayurVihar and so on. The Hazrat Nizamuddin metro station is also on this stretch, which will connect it to Inter-State Bus Terminal at Sarai Kale Khan,” said a DMRC official.
