PALAMPUR: Palampur’s Kangra district is all set for the installation of the district’s first sewage treatment plant as Virender Kanwar, Rural Development Minister, Himachal Pradesh, laid the foundation for the plant on Sunday, July 28. The garbage treatment plant is situated at the outskirts of Palampur, in the Ghuggar panchayat and a budget of over Rs 1 crore is allocated for the development of the same. The land for the plant was donated by a local resident to the authorities for the setting up of the same. Kanwar said that the plant would also be set up on the lines of Aima panchayat which had emerged as a model for other panchayats in the state. He also mentioned that all possible help to Ghuggar panchayat had been offered to them by the state authorities.
