NELLORE: Anil Kumar Singhal, Principal Health Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh, said that the number of COVID-19 cases is slowly decreasing in Andhra Pradesh and the positivity rate has come down to 5.65 per cent. He added that 11,238 patients are being treated at hospitals and another 6,497 are at COVID care centres. The remaining are in home isolation and the number of calls made to ‘104’ helpline number has also reduced, he added.
Singhal, while addressing the media, said that the total caseload of the state stands at 18,50,563 and 17,75,175 of these have recovered. He added that various initiatives of the state government, such as supplying oxygen and focusing on testing and treating, gave positive results and the cases were controlled.
Officials also said that the Andhra Pradesh government is preparing itself to face the possible third wave of COVID-19. Moreover, the vaccination has been in full swing in the state. They added that a committee is also being set up to analyse and suggest measures to control the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
