NEW DELHI: The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Greenko ZeroC Private Limited (Greenko), on Tuesday, July 26, in New Delhi, to produce Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia and other green hydrogen-based products.
Anurag Sharma, Director Onshore, ONGC and Anil Kumar Chalamalasetty, CEO & Managing Director, Greenko, signed the MoU in the presence of Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India and other officials of the two entities.
The MoU is in line with the National hydrogen Mission, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The MoU will pave the way for reaching the target of producing 5 million tonnes of green Hydrogen per annum by the year 2030.
On the other hand, the MoU is in line with the renewable targets set by ONGC under the Energy Strategy 2040. With the help of this strategy, ONGC is looking to reduce its carbon footprint by increasing renewable energy production.
