BHUBANESWAR: The Government of Odisha gave in-principal clearance to seven industrial projects for a total of Rs 511.19 crores, which will employ 6402 people in the state on Wednesday, December 15. The sanction was given during a meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) chaired by SC Mohapatra, Chief Secretary, Western Odisha Development Council.
According to a senior industries department official, the projects authorised by the panel were in high-wage industries including textiles and renewable energy.
Ambattur Fashions’ plan to build a men’s and women’s garment manufacturing unit at Chandaka in Khurda district for Rs 51 crore, creating over 4700 jobs, was approved. The committee has also cleared a textile unit by Wild Lotus Fashions to set up a garment manufacturing facility at the Chhatabar Industrial Estate, Khurda district for a total investment of Rs 52.62 crores, which will employ over 560 people.
The panel approved Shree Banshi Luxmi Private Limited (a subsidiary of Pioneer Packaging Private Limited) to build a new kraft paper mill with a capacity of 300 tonnes per day at Somanathpur, Balasore district for an investment of Rs 120 crore, which will employ over 750 people.
In addition, Indian Oil Corporation Limited was given permission to build a 10 MegaWatt (MW) solar power plant in Boudh for a total expenditure of Rs 52.28 crore. More than 65 people will be employed as a result of the initiative. PTCL Infrastructure Limited’s iron ore beneficiation plant in Barbil, Keonjhar district, has been approved for expansion from 1.5 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) to 2.5 MTPA at a cost of Rs 120 crore, creating employment for around 182 people.
