BHUBANESWAR, Odisha: The Government of Odisha has announced the creation of 34 new Notified Area Councils (NACs) in 20 districts, while five existing NACs in four districts will be upgraded into municipalities. Currently, there are 115 urban local bodies in Odisha, including five municipal corporations, 47 municipalities, and 63 NACs.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development informed that Boudhgarh in Boudh district, Kantabanji in Bolangir, Karanjia in Mayurbhanj, Chhatrapur and Aska in Ganjam district.
The newly announced NACs include, Pallahara and Chhendipada in Angul district; Basta and Simulia in Balasore district; Binjharpur, Jaraka, Chandikhole and Panikoili in Jajpur district; Belapada and Saintala in Bolangir district; Agarpada in Bhadrak district; Jaypatana in Kalahandi district; Raikia in Kandhamal district; Borigumma in Koraput district; Sinapali in Nuapada district; Chandili, Muniguda and Bisamcuttack in Rayagada district; Tangi and Begunia in Khordha district; Salepur, Badamba, Narasinghapur and Niali in Cuttack district; Betanati in Mayurbhanj district; Parjang in Dhenkanal district; Kantamal in Boudh district; Dunguripali in Subarnapur district; Bonai in Sundargarh district; Sheragarh and Kukudakhandi in Ganjam district; and Kantilo in Nayagarh district.
