BHUBANESWAR, Odisha: In order to improve the quality of school education, the Government of Odisha has decided to upgrade 8000 more schools under the second phase of the school transformation programme.
In the first phase of the school transformation programme, nearly 3000 schools spanning over 30 districts of the state were upgraded. The schools were equipped with audio-visual teaching aids, e-libraries, new science labs and projectors in the classrooms. These transformations have significantly reduced the technological gap between the schools run by the government and privately owned schools.
To improve the quality of education in the government run schools, Odisha government will also recruit 11,000 qualified and well-trained teachers, by the end of this month.
The second phase of the programme will go underway from June 10.
