BHUBANESWAR, Odisha: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated 481 developmental projects valued at Rs 1,151 crore across various districts. During the event, he also handed over appointment letters to 27 newly recruited municipal service officers.

In his speech, Majhi emphasised the significance of self-governance in delivering essential services to citizens and called for elected representatives to prioritise public welfare over political differences. He stressed the responsibility of public officials to support the Panchayati Raj system and strengthen urban self-governance.

Majhi urged councillors, vice-chairpersons, and chairpersons of urban local bodies to collaborate with municipal administrations to meet the expectations of the people. He further highlighted the importance of decentralising and empowering municipalities to plan and improve urban infrastructure.

Addressing the rapid urbanisation in the state capital, the Chief Minister acknowledged the difficulties in ensuring the basic services for the city’s growing population. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the overall development of cities across Odisha, including Bhubaneswar.
