CHANDIGARH: Passengers from Chandigarh undertaking long journeys can now book their tickets online as well using a mobile app (CTU Musafir). The web portal and the app is operated by Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) and will not only allow ticket booking but also allow the passengers to select their seat from the vacant options. A senior CTU official confirmed that the 80 per cent of online bookings would be reserved for online booking while the rest would be available for over the counter purchase.
The app would also allow the seat bookers to track the bus in real time and get trip updates. The passengers would also be able to cancel their journey through the app and refund would be directed through the app itself. CTU is working to extend the similar facility to its regional buses under the Intelligent Transport System.
