Bangalore: Bangalore metro rail corporation (BMRCL) has decided not to run the six-coach metro on weekends, which is likely to disappoint passengers.
The decision was taken keeping in note that ridership drops on weekends compared to the weekdays, and a fleet of three coach train is sufficient to meet the commuters demand said a BMRCL official.
On weekdays the train will operate on two round trips from Baiyappanahalli to Mysuru Road, and as loop train from Baiyappanahalli to Vijayanagar. The new train will also operate from Baiyappanahalli to Mysuru Road in the evening on two round trips.
BMRCL official had also said that the timetable is dynamic and may change according to the demand of commuters.
