NEW DELHI: Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, will lay the foundation stone for the construction of six lane access controlled highway corridor from Akshardham of east Delhi on January 26,2019. This signal free high-speed corridor is expected to decongest and reduce pollution in Delhi-NCR.
This highway will be about 31.3 kilometers in length and will be a part of NH-709B. It will run from Akshardham to Saharanpur Bypass. The cost of the project is Rs 2820 crore. The construction of three lanes on each side, eight underpasses and seven ramps which will connect major roads, 34 minor junctions, 15 major junctions and over bridges at Shahdara, Anand Vihar Railway lines, Dilshad Garden-ISBT metro line is included in the project.
