BENGALURU: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) ordered joint inspection of Kaikondrahalli Lake in Kasavanahalli, Bengaluru on March 11, 2019.
The bench headed by Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel, NGT Chairperson, gave his directions post hearing an application filed by the Mahadevapura Parisara Samrakshana Mattu Abhivruddi Samiti. The Samiti submitted several documents and photographs in their application that showed degradation of lake, dumping of municipal solid waste in the fragile lake buffer zone and more.
The joint inspection team comprise officers from Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), BBMP and Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB). It will submit its report to the tribunal on May 9, 2019.
The lake falls under Bellandur ward of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
