DIMAPUR: Department of Municipal Affairs under the Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs organized a capacity building on the 15th Finance Commission grants for urban local bodies.
Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, the advisor of the Urban Development and Municipal department, presented computers and certificates to the district administrators at the function. Dr. K Srinivas, program coordinator said that the function of MHUA was to understand and fulfill the needs of municipal affairs, gaps in the implementation, and study flagship programs.
The training was practically designed to include theory and background on 15th FC, in allocation to the Government of Nagaland, in 39 urban local bodies. The officers were also made to understand the preconditions of the funds, how to improve the service level benchmark, and tied and untied grants.
