BHOPAL, Madhya Pradesh: Ahead of assembly elections, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has announced that they will regularise unauthorised colonies constructed before December 31, 2022. An announcement in this regard was made by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a programme held in his official residence.
CM said that houses will be regularised in the condition they exist, and people residing in these colonies do not have to pay any development charges. CM said, “All unauthorised colonies that have come into existence till December 31, 2022, will be regularised. Necessary funds will be allocated for the development of these colonies, especially for creating necessary infrastructure such as electricity and water supply.”
CM also cautioned the officials that they would be held responsible if illegal colonies constructed after December 31, 2022, are regularised under this order.
Once the regularisation process is completed, residents will be able to avail of bank loans and allocations from the MP/MLA Local Area Development Funds. He added further that people should also form resident welfare associations for proper development of these colonies and to ensure cleanliness.
Bhupendra Singh, Minister for Urban Development and Housing, Government of Madhya Pradesh, informed that over 6,000 colonies constructed before December 31, 2016, are in the process of regularisation. He also asked the CM to extend the new deadline of December 31, so that 2,500 more colonies could share the benefits of this order.
Neeraj Mandloi, Principal Secretary, Department of Urban Administration, said that building permissions for over 1,100 colonies will be issued from Tuesday onwards and 500 letters will be distributed to beneficiaries in the state, on an immediate basis and regularisation process will be completed by June 30.
Besides the regularisation of illegal colonies, CM has also directed that food be provided to the poor visiting the cities under Deendyal Rasoi Yojana at ₹5 per person.
Tulsiram Silawat, Minister for Water Resources, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Vishwas Sarang, Minister for Medical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh and Malti Rai, Mayor of Bhopal were some other dignitaries present in the programme.
